Fruits are large, flattened, firm, red with a greenish stripe over a whitish yellow background colour, can russet. They're rather coarse-textured and can have dry flesh with an acid flavour.

A true heritage variety known from the late 1700s.
Pollination
Triploid, therefore cannot donate its pollen and needs to be planted with two other diploid varieties, such as Cox, Akane, Bonza, Crofton, Delicious, Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Lady Williams, Jonathan, Sturmer Pippin.
