Sour cherries. The fruit is small to medium, red to dark red, and quite tart.
Common Uses
Juice, preserving, cherry pies, glace cherries. Juice from most cherries is surprisingly bland, but Morello cherry juice is delicious, despite the fruit being very sour to eat. If the juice is too sour for your taste, mix with juice from a sweet cherry.

Production Notes
Not to be confused with rootstock cherries, which are tiny and dark black. Rootstock cherries are super-sour and not good for eating or preserving. Very heavy cropper.
