Fruit Description
Small, conical apples. Skin is quite smooth and slightly waxy, slight flush. Some natural russeting around the non-stem end. Flesh is white, soft, and dry. Taste is slightly astringent.
Common Uses
Cider - bittersweet, which technically means it contains >2000 mg/L of tannin and >4.5 mg/L of acid. Makes an average mild to medium cider.
Origin
Probably from Mr Dent, mid-1800s, Yarkhill, Hereford, England.
Pollination
Partially self-fertile, good pollination partners are Breakwell's Seedling, Dabinett, Stoke Red.

Late flowering.
Harvest Time
Mid to late season.
Production Notes
Spur bearer. Medium-sized, upright tree, prolific bearer. Stores OK for about 3 weeks.
Disease Susceptibility
Susceptible to black spot (apple scab).
