Royal Giant	Nectarine	Medium-sized, round fruit, bright red skin with a greeny-yellow background colour, some mottling. Yellow flesh, lovely sweet flavour. Clingstone (large stone).	Moderate cropper, often bears double fruit.	Skin can crack and turn leathery in cool summer climates.
Royal Glo	Nectarine	A rounded, medium to large nectarine that handles well. Beautiful red skin over a bright yellow ground colour with yellow, very firm flesh. Good, slightly acid flavour. Clingstone, normally not prone to splitstone.	A bright and beautiful nectarine with a lovely colour. Large size for timing and fills a gap in the season. The tree normally has a good crop.	Normally not prone to splitstone.
Royal Rosa	Apricot	Medium, round, orange colour, juicy, freestone, slightly acidic.	Apricots need frost protection, particularly at blossom time.	Apricots are generally susceptible to blossom blight. Skin can crack in bad weather.
Royal Zee	Plum	Japanese, small to medium, round plum with light red skin and yellow flesh that turns pink as it ripens. Sweet, slightly acid skin, semi-clingstone.		Skin can crack in bad weather.
Roysum	Plum			Very susceptible to bacterial spot
Ruby Blood	Plum	Japanese-type blood plum, small to medium, roundish plum, mottled green skin with a heavy bloom, flesh. Fruit is quite tart, but then is completely sweet and delicious if allowed to ripen properly. Ripen well off the tree.	These trees can be shy croppers, and can take a number of years to settle down and start producing regular crops. Trees are quite upright.	Moderately susceptible to bacterial spot.
Salmo	Cherry	Medium to large, dark red cherry, short stem. Good flavour, especially when very dark red.	Similar to Van, bears reasonably large crops.	Susceptible to cracking.
Sam	Cherry	Medium sized heart shape cherry, black with dark red flesh. Strong, slightly tart flavour, sweetness develops if ripened properly on tree. One of the best cherries for preserving due to firmness and strong flavour.	Shy cropper, must be grown with a polliniser. Can be biennial bearer.	Hangs on the tree well, highly resistant to cracking.
San Giovanni. Pyrus communis, a European-type pear.	Pear		a Probably ripens well on the tree and can be eaten fresh.

Santa Rosa	Plum	Japanese, medium, round, bright red skin with yellow flesh that pinkens as it ripens. Good flavour, flesh is a bit tart near the skin and stone. Clingstone.	Fruit can drop easily in windy condition. Young trees can be slow to bear.
Satsuma	Plum	Japanese blood plum, small to medium, roundish heart shape plum, mottled dark red skin with a heavy bloom, flesh is very dark blood red and meaty, with red juice. Good flavour, slight tang, freestone.	Heavy cropper, needs heavy, early thinning. Upright willowy tree.	Moderately susceptible to bacterial spot.

Sensation (also called Red Sensation, Red Bartlett, Red Williams, Crimson Beauty, Mock's Williams)	Pear	Pyrus communis (European pear). Delicious pear with creamy white flesh that is quite melting and juicy when ripe. The skin colour starts as a fairly dull red over a green background, which progresses to a bright red over most of the pear with a yellow bac	Good cropper. Upright, reasonably vigorous tree. It's not unusual to see reversion back to Williams on some branches. As with most pears, pick them mature but not ripe, then store in cold storage for at least 1-2 weeks before ripening.	Can be prone to core breakdown if picked too late or stored for longer than 3 months.
Sierra Sweet	Plum	Japanese plum. Oblong, egg-shaped purple plum with yellow-green flesh. Called sugar plum because of it's very sweet juicy flesh, with firm texture. Sub-acid. Fruit is small to medium.	Flowers heavily but won't set well without good pollination.
