Large, Red Delicious style, a red apple with an incomplete blush, green background colour. Good flavour.

Origin
Israel, 1950s, developed specifically for mild winter areas.
Pollination
Diploid. Flowers too early for most other apple trees, therefore best to grow with a Dorsett Golden, which is another Israeli-bred apple which flowers very early. Other possibilities that may flower at the same time include Hyslop (crab), H. purpurea (crab).
Chill Hours
Low, only 200-300, therefore suitable for subtropical areas.

Very early season, Late December to January in Harcourt, central Victoria.
Production Notes
Grows in zones 5-10. Very low chill apple, suitable to grow in warm climates. Short shelf life, bruises easily.
Disease Susceptibility
Susceptible to Black spot (Apple scab) and can also be susceptible to leaf spots such as Alternaria leaf spot and fungal gummosis
