Depending on your climate, mid-spring may see your season already well under way, or if you’re in a cooler zone your trees may only start to flower at this time. Either way, it’s definitely a time to stay alert! As trees move through the flowering phase, you can start to see the success (or failure) of your efforts to keep them disease free. ¬†As tiny fruit starts to emerge from the flowers, fruit thinning will be on the agenda.

At this time of year, taking 5 minutes (at least) each week to monitor your trees is time well spent – there’s much to be gained from just watching. And while your trees are still flowering, protecting them from disease with safe organic fungicides remains a priority.

Happy harvests!
