An erect, herbaceous perennial plant, yarrow is native to Eurasia but found all over the world. It produces one or more stems up to 1 metre tall, has a spreading rhizomatous form, branches near the top, and may be glabrous or hairy. It has a feathery look, with alternate leaves that are pinnately divided into many small segments, and white, pink or yellow flowers. Though commonly found as a weed, yarrow is an excellent addition to any garden. It flowers in spring.
