Once harvest is (mostly) finished and trees are getting ready for winter, their watering requirements change. During the growing season and summer it is important to keep water up to the trees at all times, especially during spring, and pre-harvest. In autumn the trees’ water requirements are much less, but they still do need water. Dams and tanks are often low at this time of year and the temptation is to stop watering as early as possible, but there are risks to this.
