Fruit is medium sized, mostly bright red over a cream background. Flesh is crisp and flavour is subacid to sweet.

Origin

Tasmania, late 1800s. Originated as a chance seedling on the farm of Thomas Young in Margate, Tasmania. A wax model of a Tasman Pride is included in the Wax Fruit Collection in the Victorian Museum. It was made in 1817 by Miss J McMillan, based on an appl

Probably diploid. Pollinated by Brown Snout, Court Pendu Plat, Northern Spy, Ohio Red Rome, Rome Beauty. May also be some blossom overlap with Brabrant Bellefleur, Democrat, King of the Pippins, Michelin, Peasgood's Nonesuch.
